About Hwang[edit | edit source]

In the "Deal Me Out" episode, Captain Sam Pak, a South Korean Army surgeon and friend of Hawkeye, Trapper and Henry, arrives with Major Sidney Freedman at the camp to relax and engage in a planned poker game with the surgeons in the swamp. When Henry has to deal with Hwang, an aged local man who claims to have gotten injured at the hands of a jeep that Radar had been driving at the time. Sam gives the surgeon the lowdown on the notorious "Whiplash Hwang", or "the falldown King of Korea", as referred to by Pak, who was a farmer at wars' beginning, who has made a living out of falling down in front of running trucks and jeeps, either pretending to be hit by, or actually getting hit by them, and threatens to sue the US Army in exchange for whatever monetary compensation.
