Corporal Boone was a U.S. Army military policeman who made a one-time appearance in the Season 6 episode of M*A*S*H titled "Change Day". The part of Corporal Boone was played by Tom Dever, who also made several four other appearances in the series as various M.P.s or Corpsmen. He would play one other named character, Lieutenant Rogers in Season 2 "Deal Me Out".

About Corporal Boone[]

Corporal Boone is not to be confused with Private Lorenzo Boone, a recurring character who is a corpsman at the 4077th. Corporal Boone is a military policeman who is not from the MASH itself, and from his interaction with Hawkeye, it is clear they do not know each other well.

Boone is a patient with a shrapnel wound in the MASH when a "change day" is announced. He asks his buddy Sergeant Maxwell, who is visiting him, to help change his $400 of scrip otherwise the old scrip would become valueless. Maxwell agrees to do so. Later, Hawkeye and B.J. want Maxwell to help with a scheme to frustrate Winchester's efforts to profiteer from the local Korean villagers, so Hawkeye offers to change the scrip for Boone instead.

Unfortunately, somebody steals the pouch containing Boone's scrip. Hawkeye apologizes to Boone for losing the money and promises to ask his father to wire some money over for Boone. This does not help because Boone is going off home the next day. Hawkeye promises to send the money to Boone but this does not satisfy him either. Boone gets angry and accuses Hawkeye of being a phony and trying to con him of his money. He had seen scams like this before and he tells Hawkeye that if he wasn't flat on his back, Hawkeye would be flat on his.

Later, Hawkeye and B.J., with Maxwell's help, manage to turn the tables on Winchester's profiteering scheme and make $400 out of it to return to Boone, who apologizes to Hawkeye for his rudeness. At the same time, Father Mulcahy, through an impassioned speech on the P.A., has also managed to persuade the anonymous thief to return the original stolen money - this, Hawkeye tells him, can go to Sister Theresa's orphanage.
