Elias Davis (born September 1, 1941)[1] co-wrote a total of eighteen episodes of M*A*S*H, 12 with collaborative partner David Pollock from Seasons 9 and 11, beginning with the Season 9 episode "Cementing Relationships" (episode #3, #223 overall). He also served as a story consultant for 24 episodes, beginning with the Season 10 (episode #5, #223 overall).

Career[]

Elias and fellow screenwriter David Pollock, while both attending UCLA, began writing comedy bits together for KNX Los Angeles radio personalities by the early 1960s, which led to their first television gig for CBS-TV's The Joey Bishop Show, as they went on to write for the syndicated, daytime Pat Boone Show, which became The Steve Allen Show.

The two, now in high demand in Hollywood, began a long collaborting together on numerous TV series projects by 1974, as they would go on to write for not only M*A*S*H, but also such other popular TV shows as The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Dick Van Dyke Show, All in the Family, Chico and the Man, What's Happening!! the short-lived ABC-TV sitcom series That's My Mama, the 1979 ABC-TV series Delta House, and more recently, Full House, Thea and Fraiser.
