Elliot is some sort of child prodigy who graduated with honors and is now a newly minted intern at San Francisco Memorial Hospital.

In the series, Elliot Schweitzer is a seventeen-year-old intern at San Francisco Memorial Hospital (SFMH). He takes his work extremely seriously, often pushing himself to the limit in an effort to prove himself despite his young age. His dedication to medicine is intense he devours medical textbooks, obsesses over studying, and strives to be the best doctor possible. However, his tunnel vision sometimes causes him to neglect his own well-being, as well as the emotional and human aspects of patient care.
Elliot has a mother, father, and a younger sibling named Ricky. He has a distant relationship with his family, seeing them only on weekends.
Elliot dropped out and quit because he couldn't cope with the guilt from a mistake he made with a patient. He feels that he is expected to be perfect and that he must constantly improve. When he makes one mistake, he believes he has failed everyone.
At the end of the episode, he realizes the importance of having family, chosing to quit his job to spend more time with his father and brother.
