About General Haggerty[]
In the Too Many Cooks episode, when talking to longtime buddy Colonel Potter, Budd sensed that things weren't quite right with him, when Potter requested a transfer from the 4077th when talking to him over the phone, as he said, when conversing about Private Paul Conway, a clumsy foot soldier who began blessing the mess tent with his culinary skills with gourmet style meals, he said "had it with this hellhole (the 4077th)" and that he'd much rather "chuck the whole kit and kaboodle!" When Haggerty visits the camp to find out what's wrong with him, he runs into him in the mess tent, when Conway is cooking.
When the surgeons, namely Hawkeye and BJ, as well as Klinger try to scheme how to find out how to make Conway the new cook for their unit, the plan backfires - when General Haggerty tastes Pvt. Conway's cooking by happenstance. Luckily, for Conway, Haggerty is the Adjutant-General (probably of I Corps) so he is well able to change Conway's MOS. Conway is immediately reassigned as an Army Cook but instead of staying at MASH, Haggerty envisions him working as a private cook for him, as he chimes "I'll be the envy of every General in the entire Pacific theatre!". When Conway asks to be sent back to his old unit as their cook, Haggerty gives in, saying that he respects his loyalty to his friends. But Haggerty has one request for the young soldier: "Do you deliver?"
