General Waldo Kent was a character who appeared in the Season 6 M*A*S*H episode "Potter's Retirement" . The part of General Kent was played by veteran character actor Peter Hobbs, who also appears as Colonel Drake in the Season 10 episode "Snappier Judgement".
General Kent tells old friend Colonel Potter, about the bad reports being circulated about his command, the 4077th, in the Season 6 M*A*S*H episode "Potter's Retirement".

When Col. Potter has a meeting with his longtime friend, Waldo, Gen. Kent tries to dance around some bad news he has to deliver - he's been receiving bad reports about the 4077th, specifically about Col. Potter's style of leadership. Potter isn't especially concerned, until Kent tells him that some of these bad reports are coming directly from the 4077th. This hits Potter - hard. He is hurt that that some of his own family have been saying bad things behind his back, as Kent tries to smooth things over in offering to have him transferred stateside into another cushy office job such as the one he had before he transferred to the 4077th, as Potter, now determined more than ever to find out who the saboteur was who circulated the false reports about his command out publicly, declines Gen. Kent's offer.
