Jay Folb (born October 13, 1922 - died August 10, 1997) was an Emmy Award-nominated TV writer and producer who wrote five episodes for the CBS-TV series M*A*S*H and was a story consultant for 24 more episodes from 1975-1977.
Life and career[]
Born and raised in Glen Cove, New York, Folb started his career in advertising, working at several agencies including Benton & Bowles and Young & Rubicam. He later relocated to Hollywood, where he began a successful career as a TV writer.
Television works[]
Jay's television credits include the "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" program, the CBS-TV M*A*S*H TV series and its spin-off, After M*A*S*H, "One Big Family" and the CBS-TV sitcom series Maude. Folb garnered an Emmy nomination for a "Maude" episode titled "The Analyst" during the 1975-76 season.
In 1980, he was associated with the comedy series "Freebie and the Bean," which was based on the 1974 film.

Folb died on August 10, 1997 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center following a lengthy bout with cancer.
