The Korean War was a conflict between North and South Korea over control of the Korean Peninusla. It began on June 25, 1950 and end on July 27, 1953. The conflict lasted for 3 years, 1 month, and 2 days. The war started after North Korea invaded South Korea although scirmishes had been occurring at the border for years. North Korea was given support from China and the Soviet Union. The United Nations, especially the United States, supported the South Koreans. The conflict ended with no clear winner and was settled with an armistice.
