Larry "Flash" Jenkins (May 10, 1955 – April 26, 2019) appeared as Corporal North in the Season 7 episode of M*A*S*H titled "Preventative Medicine."

Jenkins was in the entertainment industry for over 30 years. He gained the veteran status in Hollywood starring in many films and television series during his career.

Jenkins was the first African-American actor to star in television series, such as CBS-TV's The White Shadow, NBC's Bay City Blues, and ABC-TV's Finders of Lost Loves.

Jenkins was born Lawrence Jenkins in Long Island, New York on May 10, 1955.

Career[]

Jenkins garnered national attention from his brilliant performance of garrulous Wardell Stone in The White Shadow, which starred Ken Howard. Flash was faithfully labeled by the late Bruce Paltrow - creator of The White Shadow - for his gift to memorize lines quickly. He is best known for his role as Gummy in Fletch.

Jenkins had starred or co-starred in over 30 films, 40 guest shots, and was a series regular or recurred in 9.

He was the first director / producer in Hollywood history to direct, produce, and write a full feature-length film for $5,000 that got major DVD distribution thru Doug Schwab's Maverick Entertainment Group Distribution Company.

Later work / events[]

Jenkins and his production company Gold Coast Productions, LLC prepped I Didn't Lie... I Just Didn't Tell The Truth and Season Tickets.

In recent years, Jenkins had directed, produced, written, and starred in Marriage Vows and House of Grace (both in 2013) and Don't Touch If You Ain't Prayed (2014).

He also produced and wrote Pastor Jones and produced Ms. B's Hair Salon. Jenkins served as a co-producer of and co-starred in Brothers in Arms and starred opposite Glenn Plummer in Go For Broke II. He served as executive producer for When Thugs Cry. He also produced and wrote the first draft for Color of the Cross.

In between his schedule, Jenkins had formed in October 2005 his own production companies titled Flashworks Productions and Gold Coast Productions, LLC in Los Angeles, California.

Death[]

On April 26, 2019, Jenkins died in Los Angeles, California of a heart attack at the age of 63.
