Monster M*A*S*H

Lesley Evans appeared as 3 different nurses in 3 episodes of the M*A*S*H TV series, all in early season 2. She also acted in various bit roles, starting with Here's Lucy in 1969. Her last IMDB entry is for Shampoo in 1975. However she is probably better known for being one of the Action Kids dancers, the resident dance troupe of the Dick Clark music variety show Where the Action is which aired every weekday on ABC between 1965 and 1967.

The Action Kids were considered one of the most exciting dancers on television in the 1960s. On existing footage of the dancers in action, Lesley, who was also a singer and choreographer, is easily recognisable as the girl with the short brunette hair. Lesley was apparently one of the more popular of the dancers but images of the dancers are rare - indeed, fans of Lesley turn to M*A*S*H because it provides the best shots of Lesley close-up and in color.

The Shady Dell Music & Memories blog at the reference below has one of the best information about the Action Kids dancers, including good footage and images of Lesley.[1] The Actions Kids Dancers also have a Facebook group dedicated to them. Several photos of Lesley can be found there.[2]

One of the rare color photos of the Action Kids dancers can be found at the Monterey Herald blog in an article covering the filming of an episode of Where the Action is in Monterey County at this reference (Lesley is the girl in the orange top and dark skirt).[3] Lesley also sang "A Groovy Kind of Love" and was interviewed by Dick Clark in Season 3 Episode 84 of Where the Action is which aired on January 2, 1967.[4]
