Major Murphy is a major in the military police corps. In "The Trial of Henry Blake", he is part of a panel with Major General Maynard Mitchell and Captain Fox questioning Henry Blake during a preliminary hearing to consider if he should be court-martialed after Frank Burns had pressed charges that Henry was unfit for command.
