Major Overman was a character who appeared in the Season 5 episode of the CBS-TV series M*A*S*H, in the episode titled Out of Sight, Out of Mind. The part of Major Overman was played by stage, film and TV actor Dudley Knight.

When Hawkeye is blinded after trying to re-light the nurses' gas heater, Col. Potter orders Radar to contact a nearby Ophthalmologist, Major Overman, to the 4077th immediately; to hasten Overman's arrival, Radar poses as a fuming mad general! The doctor examines Hawkeye, and bandages him up. Hawkeye only has one question: is the blindness permanent? The doctor can't give him an answer, and says he'd be back in a week. When he returns and takes off Hawkeye's bandages, Hawkeye's sight has returned! After the successful examination, Overman asks Potter, "Who is General O'Reilly?"
