About Major ReddishEdit
One of the OR patients, a North Korean pilot, is being bribed by Major Reddish, An Army Public Relations man who General Clark's assistant chief of Public Information, to become a turncoat and come to America as a way to "sell" the war to the people back home. The North Korean fighter pilot in question, Lt. Chong-Wa Park (played by Byron Chung) flatly isn't interested in changing sides, but Reddish, who is doggedly starving for the PR scheme to work, won't take no for an answer. When the pilot refuses to take Reddish's offer, Hawkeye, after talking with Joon-Sung, a South Korean PR man himself, persuades Reddish that he could possibly get away with substituting the disinterested Lt. Park with Joon-Sung, who was told by Park that he'd rather be a prisoner of war than be paraded stateside as a turncoat, and who admits that he has no immediate family, and that the South Korean Army "wouldn't miss him".
After thinking it over for a minute, Reddish accepts the offer, saying that "we just might be able to blow this by them (the US Army)!".
